The Friends of the Shelter

The Wells County "Friends of the Shelter" is a group of volunteers working under the direction of the manager/ACO and her assistant. We do not have a national charter, officers of membership requirements and ask only that our volunteers give us their ideas, be knowledgeable about the shelter needs and help us promote shelter adoptions. Adoptions can be encouraged by referring people to the Animal Shelter when they are looking for pets. We ask that you have information about the shelter available [i.e. know the location, phone number, office hours and adoption fees]. You can be of help to us by offering your time, services, or any materials you have access to through friends, business acquaintances or employers.
The immediate goal of this organization is to increase animal adoptions and supplement the shelter animal care supplies. The long term goal is to change the present shelter building to a new or remolded facility. Anyone wishing to be a part of this group may do so by calling David Feeback at 824-0500 [office], Suzanne Feeback at 824-5703 [home], or June Grove at 824-3570 [home].
Donations may be given to any of the above mentioned contact people. Friends of the Shelter have recieved permission from the Wells County Foundation to use their tax exempt status in collecting funds into which contributions can be made and the donor will receive a conformation for tax deductions to a charitable organization. Checks should be sent and made payable to the Wells County Foundation with a memo that the gift is for the Shelter Building Fund. The address of the Foundation is: 109 N.Scott Street, Bluffton, Indiana 46714.
Supply donations [i.e. or litter, leashes or collars, grooming materials, etc.] are as much appreaciated as cash donations. There are many different ways to assist the shelter, so please don't hesitate to give us your input.
